I met Pilar DeLaCruz at the She Leads! conference in New York City. And Pilar definitely leads — with her heart, drive and wonderful (and I mean wonderful, as in I love this product!) tea baths. There is something very special about Pilar, and I’m delighted to highlight her in this Innovator Insights interview.
Me: Why are you an entrepreneur?
Pilar: I’ve always liked the opportunity that being an entrepreneur presents me with, the challenges, self discovery and balance. It also gives me the flexibility to provide for my family and time to spend with my loved ones.
Me: What problem would you like solved?
Pilar: Self-sabotage and low self-esteem. Your thoughts are not you. Be compassionate with yourself and balance your life, body, mind and soul.
Me: Advice you’d wished you’d had or had followed?
Pilar: Follow your heart and at the same time balance it with information and educate yourself. Don’t worry about perfection and push as much as you can and get things done. Down the line you’ll find that going through the process is the most important part of your journey.
Me: What does success look like for you?
Pilar: I summarize my success in three ways: First by providing my children with the love and support that’s crucial to their development. Secondly, by completing and often exceeding my business goals and last but not least by leaving my mark and being my most authentic self. Touching people by encouraging, inspiring and sharing my success.
Me: Who are your heroes?
Pilar: I consider both my parents and children my heroes. They are such a driving force for me. My parents instilled in me a boundless dose of courage and faith in myself. By taking a huge leap of faith and migrating to this country, not knowing what awaited them here, the language, little to no family and support system they exemplified that anything can be accomplished through hard work and faith. My children, are my heroes because as I’m sharing my life lessons they often end up teaching me so much about life, my limits, being patient and not taking anything for granted. It’s never a dull moment and I cherish every moment with them.
Me: What is your best discovery?
Pilar: I’m most proud to have discovered my inner strength. As women we’re forced to balance image, household and everything life throws at us. The last few years have taught me that not everything will go as planned and that is A-OKAY! Remember to celebrate small and big wins, give yourself credit and continue working hard.
Me: What would the title of your biography be?
Pilar: Conscious living, Body, Mind & Spirit. I would say it’s TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE!
Me: What is your biggest regret?
Pilar: I do not have any regrets because from the mishaps I have evolved and flourished to the woman I am today.
Me: Anything else we should know about (product launch, crowdfunding or marketing campaign, recent interview, job openings..)?
Pilar: I am so excited to announce that Supiglow is now available for purchase at the following establishments: Shaktibarre yoga studio in Williamsburg, and My Wellness Solution in Harlem.
